Blip ("we", "us") is a free product-research tool for AliExpress dropshipping. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the site, and how we treat it. Blip works without an account; an optional free account adds favorites and an email digest. Either way, we collect as little as possible.
1. Information we collect
- Without an account: nothing personal. Your search queries are sent to our server to fetch trend and marketplace data and may be cached to speed up future lookups. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) are kept for security, abuse prevention and performance, like on most websites.
- With an account: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as a cryptographic hash — never in plain text — and we cannot read them.
- Favorites: if you save products to your favorites while signed in, that list is stored with your account so it follows you across devices.
- Trend digest (optional): if — and only if — you tick the digest checkbox, we record your consent and its date so we can send you the weekly trend email. The box is never pre-ticked.
- Local preferences: your language choice and calculator settings are stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
2. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie — a session cookie that keeps you signed in to your account. It is HttpOnly, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with anyone. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you never sign in, no cookies are set at all.
3. Emails we send
We send the weekly trend digest only to users who explicitly opted in. You can stop it at any time — from your account menu or via the unsubscribe link in any digest email. We do not send promotional email on behalf of anyone else, and we never sell or rent your email address.
4. Third-party data & affiliate links
Blip displays data drawn from third parties, including AliExpress, Amazon and Google Trends. Product links on Blip are AliExpress affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, AliExpress may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects scores, rankings or verdicts. When you click a product link you leave our site, and the destination's own privacy policy applies. Blip is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by AliExpress, Amazon or Google.
5. How we use information
We use the data above only to operate, secure and improve the service: to return results, keep you signed in, store your favorites, send the digest you asked for, and prevent abuse. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
6. Data retention & deletion
Account data is kept until you delete your account. You can delete it yourself at any time from the account menu — this permanently removes your email, password hash, favorites and digest consent from our database. Cached query data and server logs are retained only as long as needed, then rotated or deleted.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time: your email and digest setting are visible in the account menu, deletion is one click, and unsubscribing is instant. For anything else — including a copy of the data we hold about you — email us and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed with a modern memory-hard algorithm and login sessions use server-side tokens that can be revoked. Access to the server is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small.
9. Children
Blip is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and — for account holders — highlighted in the app.
